As I’ve said at CodeProfessor, a promising new web metrics + analytics package is being released by the guys at Performancing. As the package has an API, to be released shortly, I have plans to write some blog plugins, with a collaborator, for hardcore blog traffic analysis.
The statistical techniques I plan to use are rather quite simple but immensely valuable, and I’ll discuss them here shortly, in a day or three. As the plugins will be for PHP-based blog platforms, the plugins will also be in PHP. As my collaborator and I finish each plugin, their use will be discussed at CodeProfessor. Over here, I’ll discuss some of the PHP code (and mySQL code, if any) behind the plugin, as well as the math and statistics techniques.
Stay tuned.

1This does look like a promising analytics package for bloggers due to the blog-specific metrics it apparently has. I don’t know if I’d want to rely on it for stats on day-1 due to the overwhelming popularity it will likely have, but I imagine most people who are jumping on something like this probably do have a stats package in place today.

2Ed, that’s an honest concern, however, I’ve been using the package today and not experiencing any delays. Nick and company moved the website to a new server, so I presume they kicked up the bandwidth.
