These are the assumptions for the Perl-Tips category:
Some operating systems that run Perl treat the name of the perl program as a parameter. If you use the Perl code presented on this site, you’ll be able to see what your system thinks the commandline parameters are. I’m assuming, in all my tutorials, that you are running an operating system where the program name is not considered one of the parameters. If not, you will need to adjust your code accordingly.
While I make an effort to provide working Perl code, I offer you no guarantees that the code will work on your system. If you use the code, you cannot hold me, or any other contributors, responsible for any problems or damage that you may incur. If you disagree with this basic condition, please leave the website or do not use the code.
All code and tutorials are copyright of their respective authors. The conditions of this site is that anyone is free to use the code and modify it in any way that you see fit. This is not an OpenSource site, per se, in the sense that you do not have to publish these same conditions if you resell your version of the code. However, you may not resell the code exactly as is; you must modify it in some way first. If you do modify and resell, it would be nice if you credit the original author(s) and their website, but it is not necessary.
You may also republish the code as is, at no cost, on your website or in a free e-newsletter/ ezine, but only if you credit the original author(s) and their website (if they have one listed).
